Q: What is the price of a Cantelli ring?
A: A Cantelli ring set retails in Japan at 198,000 Yen per pair (including tax). This includes a 0.02ct diamond for the female ring and complimentary engraving service for both rings.
Although the process of making authentic high quality Mokume Gane is most time consuming, needing a master craftsman, since we have an established setup and craft every ring from the first stage till the last in-house, we are able to retail our rings at an extremely competitive price.
A: It usually takes about 1 to 2 months to complete a ring. Because we concentrate on making rings one by one as a full order made with the work process of Mokume Gane, it is not possible to make rings in a few days.
A: No. Each Cantelli ring is crafted masterfully by hand and is one of a kind. While we follow the same proportion and colour balance of metals for every combination, the details of the pattern are matchless. Nature works its own magic in every pattern and gives each ring its uniqueness, creating distinctive metal patterns that reflect the natural beauty of the material much like your individual personalities.
A Cantelli ring was truly made especially for you. The pattern for your couple rings will be exclusive to your rings; no other ring set will have the exact same pattern…ever!
A: Yes. The patterns on your rings are not superficial. They are in fact the result of the permanent bonding of many layers of metals with intense heat and delicate perseverance. These are then forged, twisted and rolled by master craftsmen while red hot to produce beautiful and organic patterns. The pattern will always be there.
Very slight changes on the surface of the ring may appear over the years, but would only be noticeable in a direct comparison with the ring in its original state.
A: Cantelli rings are painstakingly fabricated by master craftsmen and are made to be worn for a lifetime. For crafting our Mokume Gane we specifically choose our metals with this aim in mind. E.g. for the Mokume Gane making process, it is easier to use K24 gold or platinum, but they are not durable. On the other hand, the harder gold, which are K18, are more challenging for crafting Mokume Gane. After intense research and with the high degree of craftsmanship we are able successfully to use 18k gold in various alloyed colours. Silver, is also a concern for the ring durability, so we use silver 925 instead of pure silver.
A: Precious metals are malleable by nature which means that they can scratch from regular wear. This is normal. Etched rings show scratches less than non-etched rings. You are welcome to return your ring to an authorised Cantelli retailer to have any minor marks removed.
A: Cleaning - Rings can be cleaned with any commercially available jewellery cleaner or cloth. A soft toothbrush and warm soapy water or a professional ultrasonic and steam should take care of any surface dirt or oils. It's possible to refinish the ring periodically, but not necessary.
Precaution - As with all fine jewellery, Cantelli rings should not be worn into a hot tub or swimming pool, and care should be taken when using any household cleaners with bleach. Salt water and jewellery don't mix. Ocean water can damage some stones and metal.
A: Standard sterling silver can become tarnished from the acidity of some people’s skin or if it comes into contact with some chemicals. We use Tarnish Resistant Sterling Silver in our Mokume Gane because the tarnishing effect is greatly reduced. This oxidization can easily be removed with sandblasting or a light polish.
Please follow general precautions described above to take care of your Cantelli rings.
A: Every Cantelli ring is marked with the following stamps:
1. The Cantelli logo and trademark
2. Your element symbol
3. Your partner’s element symbol
4. Diamond weight
5. Metals used
A: For the Cantelli rings to last a lifetime, we craft our Mokume Gane using Colour K18 gold (White, Yellow, Green, Red) and Silver 925.
We use round brilliant diamonds, graded GH colour & VS clarity in all of our rings.
A: The diamonds used in Cantelli rings are purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. We only buy from diamond suppliers that guarantee the diamonds are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds.
We recycle all our metal scrap - even the contents of our vacuum cleaner bags are recycled. The refineries we buy our metals from have a strong commitment to social responsibility, a healthy environment and materials that are consistent with these values.
A: We apologize, but we are unable to take your stones for security reasons.
A: Yes, we can. Our craftsman resizes rings one by one. But there may be some difficulty of resizing depending on the design. So please ask us during the design meeting.
A: We guarantee the workmanship and materials of all our pieces. We make the rings unique to your ‘perfect combination, specific to your choice of finish, gemstones & engraving and tailor made to your finger size(s). Please understand that because of the individuality of each piece, we cannot accept the return of these made-to-order pieces.
A: In Japan Cantelli rings are retailed at 18 locations through the MOKUME GANEYA stores. Please ask us for your closest store location. You can visit the locations at your convenience and can even make a prior appointment.
We can also accept your order by email. For our mail order information, please contact us.
A: At Cantelli we are concerned about your safety and the environment. We do not use nickel in our alloys. However, we suggest you take the patch test at a hospital to find out exactly which metal you are allergic to.
